Origin
In 1976, Luis Felipe Edwards Snr purchased the Fundo San José estate in Puquillay, Colchagua Valley. From those original 60 hectares of old vines, Luis grew the estate into Chile's largest family-owned winery, now managed by his daughter and two sons.
Taste
Full of soft, ripe blackberry and damson fruit, set apart from the norm by subtle earthy, smoky notes, redolent of toast. Rounded yet firm tannins frame the thick and juicy fruit.
Enjoy
Best served with your favourite homemade chili con carne.

    superb!

Lovely fruit - black & red. Plus a subtle lingering taste of vegetables & slight spicyness. Reminiscent of Cabernet Franc.

Fruity, full bodied and interesting enough to be considered good value.

More than anything else, this wine is fruity - I got blackcurrants and blackberries. Much to my satisfaction, however, I found other interesting notes. Earthy? Yes probably. Smoky? Maybe, but I was hoping for more. I, in fact, thought there was more than a hint of something green and herbaceous - blackcurrant leaf, maybe mint. I think this "green" quality makes it a good flavour match for spicy food, giving it a little lift. The full body, intensity and soft tannins will allow it to stand up to a good lamb curry without emphasising the chilli heat too much. If you are someone who eats a lot of spicy food and drinks a lot of red wine, this is a good everyday wine to have with your lamb rogan josh on a friday night.

Open they leave for 24-48 hrs

I found this wine a bit sharp for my liking but it fared better after leaving it loosely corked for 24-48 hrs.

    Excellent value for money!

I have had this wine now on a number of occasions and find it is perfect for everyday drinking and exceptional value for money. The service that Majestic provide is in my opinion excellent too with deliveries just when I need them! The staff are very polite too! Well done Majestic, especially your Stourbridge shop.

    Value for money

A round edged smooth drinking wine that is great value for money. Not too high octane so ideal for easy drinking on its own.
