Grape

Pinot Noir

Origin
The grapes for this wine are grown in Undurraga's Codigua Estate. Situated along the Maipo river, behind the Leyda Valley. Cool temperatures here create an ideal environment for producing Pinot Noir of delicate colour and fresh acidity, perfect for sparkling rosé.
Taste
Delicate watermelon pink, and with subtle aromas of cherries, strawberries and flower petals. Persistent, uniform bubbles and zesty acidity provide an uplifting palate.
Enjoy
Great for parties, as an apéritif, or with lightly spicy chicken skewers.

Pink Perfection at a perfect price!

The first time I tried this, I had the cherry soda comment in mind, but could not quite agree. The second time around, I had definitely moved on from any cherry soda notions, and it proved to be an all round thumbs up favourite. Many tries since, have been enough to badge this a deserved all round 5. There is no doubt; at this price, and if it is a vibrant pink fizz you are after, then this is a masterpiece.

    Fabulous for parties!

Here in White Roding we love both the rose and the white. We have partied on both for the past two years now and won't have a word said against either. Excellent value for money!

    cheap pink fizz

Nothing wrong with it for an 18th Birthday party for your daughter, but not for a more sophisticated taste.

    Fabulous Summer Fizz

At £5.50 a bottle I was highly dubious. This had to be rubbish, right? So cautiously I bought an experimental two bottles - and now I'm heading straight back out for more. A stunning bargain at that price! Okay, so summer weather has been a bit thin on the ground this year but today saw the first sunshine in many a week and the ideal opportunity to put this sparkle to the summer garden quaffing test - and it played an absolute blinder. Luscious in colour, the right amount of non-gassy fizz, fruity, ripe and succulent, this wine surpassed my expectations (which were, I admit, somewhat on the low side...) Really and truly you cannot go far wrong with this. Whip out the flutes, deliver this pinkness into the hands of your guests and they will be convinced that you've really pushed the boat out for them. Only you and I will know that you're a cheapskate ;)

    you will enjoy it.

As Tim Atkin says, it isn't that sophistocated, but I do disagree with your reviewer who describes it as lean. Fun and cheerful, I would say. you will enjoy it at that level.

    Cheap, but not a bargain

Sorry, folks - my first ever negative review of a wine from Majestic. I don't mind that the colour is zingy pink rather than 'delicate' - zingy pink is cheerful. But the wine is lean, with no generosity of flavour or body, and tastes like cherry-flavoured soda water with a herby element. It may be cheap but, sadly, it's not a bargain.

  • a well-made, fruit-driven rosé sparkler (NV)

"Not as sophisticated as other pricier New World fizz, but this is a bargain price for a well-made, fruit-driven rosé sparkler. (Rose Murray Brown, Scotsman, 11th February 2012)"

  • "...It's simple and a little sweet, but there's some strawberry cup fruit and decent, refreshing bubbles here. 86 points"
