Origin
A long-standing institution in the Californian wine industry, Robert Mondavi created the first Fumé Blanc in 1966 - a crisp, barrel-aged wine. Matured sur lie in French oak, using Bordeaux yeasts, this is a combination of crisp fruit and creamy, buttery characters.
Taste
Perfumed aromas lead to fresh grapefruit, melon and pear flavours enlivened with a hint of orange and complex floral and mineral notes. Beautiful balance of crisp acidity and creamy texture on the palate.
Enjoy
Particularly well matched to creamy Italian pasta and gnocchi.

    Good drinking!

    This is a lovely wine with a complexity over and above everyday drinking 'plonk'. The oak is held in abeyance such that it doesn't choke the other flavours. Well worth a bottle or two!
