70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc. This perenially popular property is extremely well-regarded, the quality of its terroir evident as much as ever in 2007. This isn't a keeper in the manner of the 2000 or 2005, but fans will be delighted that the distinctive richness of texture, fruit and tannins has been delivered as expected. There are restrained notes of dark chocolate, kirsch and minerals on the nose, and a delicate violet note on the finish. Snap this wine up for a Léoville-Barton to enjoy between 6-12 years of age. 16.3 points (out of 20)

"Rich and ripe with soft black cherry fruit but not much real concentration on the mid palate. Very drying finish. Quite firm but sandpaper dominates. 16.5 points (out of 20)."

"Lovely core of blackberry and currant, with smoky oak and chocolate. Full and velvety. Delicious already. 88-91 points."
