Bollinger's stunning vintage wines are highly sought after. Following the house style, this is a richly fruited Champagne with bold yeasty notes, yet with an elegance and finesse that is typical of superior vintage wines. To quote Mme Lily Bollinger: 'I drink it when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it when I'm not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty of course.'

"We're surprised to find that this is the first time we've reviewed a Bollinger Grande Année (ie vintage Champagne) – and very pleased to be kicking off with such a gem of a vintage. It has honeyed, baked-bread and savoury aromas – very expressive – and a full palate with a notably silky texture, sweet fruit and firm, youthful acidity tying it all together. Lovely. Rating: 94/100 Goes with: Aperitif wine, Smoked fish."
