Grape

Pinot Noir

Origin
The ethos of producing wine that maintains the hallmark of the vineyard rather than simply the mark of the producer dominates the winemaking philosophy for the Carneros Pinot Noir. Gentleness and restraint are critical in the selection of the grapes and in the élevage.
Taste
Ripe red-fruit aromas with bitter black cherry, spice, cigar tobacco, mocha and vanilla. A ripe and textured palate of integrated tannins, red-fruit and spice with a fresh, weighty finish.
Enjoy
Drinking well over the next four years, partner with duck, lamb and game.

    Hugely dissapointing

Light but nice nose, no fruit, no tanin, no taste. Avoid this wine. I am really dissapointed that Majestic are selling this wine!

    Value for Money

This pinot represents excellent value for money. It is a typical Carneros pinot, fruity with just the right amount of oak. I have tasted pinot and burgundies at twice the price that are not as good. Recommended

    Pleasant but unimpressive

Lured in by the special offer of £14.99 a bottle, but slightly disappointed even at this price. While it certainly has some of the defining characteristics of pinot noir, it is slightly hard-edged and lacking in subtlety, and if you were new to the grape, probably wouldn't encourage you to explore other examples of its charms. Much better value and more enjoyable pinot to be had elsewhere in the Majestic range - e.g. at time of writing , the special on the Errazuriz Wild Ferment.

    Very pleasant

An easy drinking Pinot over-priced at £24 but at £16 a quality wine at a good price

    Superb....!

Not sure I would want to part with £24 a bottle, but on offer at £16 I was lured following an instore tasting. 12 bottles and a considerably lighter wallet later I look forward to drinking these over the coming year. A classy, elegant pinot with depth and character which unfortunately for my quota stand little chance of "improving with age".
