I agree with the previous reviewer about not normally buying Zinfandel but at this price it's very good value, and this isn't as over-the-top as some of the Port-like Zinfandels that the Californians seem to love.

My first time actually taking any notice of the Zinfandel. A nice rounded mouthful with good red berry fruits. I partook of half a bottle as I had to drive later and, on coming back to the other half the next day it had definitely improved with a days worth of breathing. At this price it has to be the best value ever.
I must admit that Zinfandel isn't my favourite grape. I found this example a bit hard and unyielding; you have to have it with robust food. However, at this price it's an absolute bargain.
