"A complex and racy nose of green fruits, apples, grapefruit and blood oranges jump out of the glass to present a refreshing and unexpectedly elegant and minerally bouquet. This is not archetypal Californian Chardonnay, but soft, sophisticated and fabulously complex. The richness of the fruit is complimented by a steely minerality and a genuine richness provided by the careful oak ageing and extended time on its lees."

"A punchy nose packed full of blueberries, mulberries and raspberry fruit are complemented by more savoury notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and earth. The palate is weighty and concentrated and mirrors the nose with added complexity and the perfect balance of tannin and alcohol. A lovely fruity Pinot that is ideal for drinking now!"

Saintsbury Sawi Vineyard Syrah 2007

This is an impressive wine with plenty of power. On the nose there are strong aromas of black pepper, violets and plums. It has great structure, good tannins and well balanced acidity.

"This is a rich, modern Californian Syrah displaying seriously succulent blueberry and blackberry fruit, charcoal, licorice and violets. Big, opulent and extracted, the wine has real bravado revealing intense flavours of mocha tinged blueberry fruit, intermingled with sweet Christmas spice. Smooth velvety tannins partner the deliciously juicy fruit, providing real balance and harmony. Drink it now or over the next 5 years."

Saintsbury Rogers Creek Syrah 2007 Sonoma Coast

Displaying the wild gamey side of Syrah rather than generous, jammy fruit. It will reward cellaring but even now it is an interesting wine with plenty of personality.
