This wine really represents stunning value for money. Aged for 24 months in American oak and then 5 years in bottle this is a multi dimensional wine.
"The 2002 Gran Vendema Gran Reserva Rioja is ruby red in colour with a nose of ripe red berry fruit, tobacco, cedar and hints of vanilla. The palate has a character of strawberries, blackberries and chocolate rounded off with soft velvety tannins. The subtle flavours and soft tannins make it an ideal partner to spring lamb."

The traditionally bush-trained vines from this part of the Nekeas Valley are between 70 and 100 years old. Atlantic influences in this region contribute to higher acidity, which lends better balance to the otherwise quick-ripening Garnacha.
