The traditionally bush-trained vines from this part of the Nekeas Valley are between 70 and 100 years old. Atlantic influences in this region contribute to higher acidity, which lends better balance to the otherwise quick-ripening Garnacha.

Camins del Priorat 2010 Alvaro Palacios

Dark purple in colour, with equally dark fruit filling the nose. Bramble, blueberry and cherry aromas predominate, accompanied by subtle floral hints. Rich and smooth on the palate, with a spicy finish.

Hacienda Monasterio Crianza 2007 Ribera del Duero

Made by winemaker Peter Sisseck,who is also responsible for Pingus, one of the region's most legendary wines. This is a blend of 80% Tinto Fino with 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot, grown on a superb south-facing vineyard, with the limestone and clay soils that suit these varieties.
