Rioja Reserva Contino

Rioja Reserva Contino 2001

Winemaker Jesus Madrazo is exceptionally talented and runs the estate with a qualitatively driven philosophy reminiscent of a top Bordeaux property. Individual plots and varieties are handled separately producing intricate, precise wines with great balance and ageing potential. This is a highly polished wine with notes of damson, violets, black olives and vanilla. Drink it over the next 10 - 12 years.

  • Feel free to mix Fine Wines with “regular” wines to make up your order of 12 bottles (or more!) in total. However, at least 6 bottles must be Fine Wine products, because Fine Wines require special distribution from our temperature-controlled Fine Wine Centre in London.

"Deep ruby in colour with aromas of plums and cherries, this pure tempranillo tinto from Spain's Ribera del Duero region shows bright strawberry fruit juiciness made all the more vivid for its lively acidity and supple tannins...Great with slow-cooked (all night and all day) pork shoulder."
