Bodegas Ramón Bilbao is situated in a privileged location: Haro, in Rioja Alta, a paradise where Rioja's emblematic grape variety, Tempranillo, grows best. From vines with an average age of 46 years, this deeply concentrated, intensely fruity Rioja is a blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Garnacha. Following six months ageing in American oak casks, the result is a wine bright cherry red in colour with aromas of sweet cherries, blackberries and brioche. Well- structured with a long and pleasant finish which would be ideal with red meat stews and cheeses.

Origin:
Spain
Closure:
Natural Cork
Style:
Medium-bodied reds
Varieties:
Tempranillo, Grenache

13.5%

" This wine blends the classy Tempranillo, the sophisticated and complex classic Rioja grape with the soft and luxurious Grenache in equal measure. This provides a modern, easy drinking wine that can be enjoyed on its own but can nevertheless hold its own with all kinds of food, especially roasts and cheeses."

  • Lovely smooth taste

I noticed this wine from a Sunday Times list and although I love Rioja, this one is probably one of the best I've tasted, especially at this Majestic price! Quite a smooth taste for a Rioja which, to me, tastes of very rich fruit!

3.5 stars. This wine has berries galore and finishes with a familiar hug and kiss or a classic Rioja... it is a great value and I am on my second purchase.

A superior, modern-style Rioja for everyday drinking. Worth the money as this wine shows quality through and through. Recommend to buy again.
