Origin
Bodegas Beronia is named after the Berones, a Celtic tribe who lived during the 3rd Century BC, in the area now known as Rioja Alta where the winery is based. Dos Maderas means 'two woods': the barrels used by the winery are made from both American and French oak.
Taste
Deep ruby-maroon in colour, with plenty of density. The complex nose is dominated by cinnamon and clove notes, with hints of toasted bread. Plenty of warm fruit, sweet tannins, and a velvet texture.
Enjoy
Drink with tapas of hard cheeses, Iberico ham, or embuchados.

  • Fine reserva rioja (2006 Vintage)

"Beronia uses French and American oak to bring spicy undertones of vanilla to the dark fruit concentration of this fine reserva rioja with its infusion of gamey notes. (Anthony Rose, THE INDEPENDENT, 15th October 2011)"

"There is a lot of average discounted Rioja around, but this is one of the best: complex, elegant and satisfying. From the Rioja Alta, it is aged in barrels made from American and French oak, resulting in cinnamon and clove aromas, intense flavours of sweet fruits, touches of leather and tobacco and a lovely, smooth mouthfeel."
