A great winter red
At £5.99 per bottle when bought as a pair, this is a real bargain. Hints of black-cherry aromas and liquorice on the palate a real steal. It's a hearty Spanish, fairly fool-bodied wine which opens up if decanted or left to breathe for an hour or so at room temperature.
I've had worse Riojas at twice the price. The cabernet adds a little mellowness to the grenache and tempranillo more associated with Spanish reds.
