Jean-Claude Mas has created a rich and mellow but well-balanced white from 100% Marsanne grapes, a proportion of which is barrel-aged for extra complexity. The result is elegant with white flower and hazelnut aromas and delicious pear and honey flavours.

"One of the Languedoc's most innovative producers, Jean-Claude Mas, has just released a 2007 Paul Mas Marsanne, Vin de Pays d'Oc that takes the variety to new heights in the south of France, showing well-handled oak and notes of peach, honeysuckle and banana. I honestly believe that if the Pinot Grigio drinkers of the world tasted a bottle of this, they'd switch allegiance over night. Until they do, it's back to my boulder."

"Rhône and rhône-inspired whites like this one are terrific winter-into-spring wines. The bold, peachy, apricot taste will complement the last winter stews and first meaty salads."

"Under the youthful Jean-Claude Mas, the Domaines Paul Mas has become one of the south of France’s leading négociants, with wines that often boast an almost New World like generosity of flavour. So it is with this rich and peachy dry white made from the white Rhône variety seen in white Hermitage, a pedigree that’s well-suited to the warm, dry conditions of the Languedoc."
