Origin
Rustenberg has a wine-growing history dating back to 1682, when Roelof Pasman from Meurs, near the Rhine, recognised its wine-growing potential. Warm daytime temperatures give ripe, tropical flavours and 40% of the wine spends 12 months in new French oak.
Taste
A beautifully balanced Chardonnay with rich fruit flavours enhanced by minerality and well integrated oak. The palate shows apricot and orange peel aromas with ripe citrus and stone fruit flavours.
Enjoy
Lots of ripe, rich fruit and well-integrated oak make this a good match for rich, creamy poultry and fowl dishes. Can age for 5 years.

    Powerful, fruity and refreshing

This oak fermented stellenbosch has strong butterscoth flavours with powerful peach and pineapple aftertaste. Very sweet and strong at 14.5%, would thoroughly recommend with a lemon roasted chicken.

Staff Reviews

  • Balance and then some!

"Often producers in the New World struggle to achieve a balance between the classic Chardonnay flavours of citrus & tropical fruit and the use of oak fermentation but this offering from Rustenberg has both in abundance. Vanilla and citrus fruits are married harmoniously with hints of lemon and grapefruit. The medium body and impressive length make this an outstanding match to roast chicken."
