Grape

Cabernet Franc

Origin
Far from its homeland of the Loire, Cabernet Franc is here used to make a richer, more fruit-driven wine. The grapes, from old bush vines, undergo lengthy ripening before harvest. The wine is matured for 14 months in 2nd and 3rd-fill French oak barriques.
Taste
A backbone of bright red berry fruits, further lifted by subtle notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and Chinese five spice. Well-integrated oak influence and a hint of mocha on the palate.
Enjoy
Will partner well with braised lamb shanks in a redcurrant gravy.

    Great taste!

A typical Cabernet Franc, very fruity and very drinkable. Good value too.

    Excellent choice

This was on taste in store and I was sufficiently impressed to buy a case. Last bottle to be opened tonight and I'll deffo be back for more. It's red wine and it tastes great and it's not expensive!

  • Cherry-edged side of Cabernet Franc with some spice and green herb notes (2010 Vintage)

"Varietal Cabernet Franc is still rarely seen outside of the Loire and Bordeaux heartlands. Matured in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels, this has a lovely fragrance, the lifted, floral and cherry-edged side of Cabernet Franc with some spice and green herb notes. The palate has a fresh fruit vitality, the lovely juiciness and crunch focused into the finish despite a little toast and grippy richness (The Wine Gang, Spring 2012)."
