Grape

Pinot Noir

Origin
Grown in Nelson, to the west of Marlborough, on stony loam soils with high sunshine hours and a moderating Maritime influence. The winemaking philosophy blends Old World techniques with pioneering methods now becoming commonplace in the New World.
Taste
An elegant nose of black cherry, rose petal, cranberry and subtle oak with hints of spice. A medium bodied wine with luscious dark cherry, blossom fruits, silky soft tannins, and a generous mouthfeel.
Enjoy
An excellent partner to red meat and game dishes or mushroom flavoured sauces. A wine to be enjoyed over the next four years.

    Jam on toast

Spot on SVR - at last someone that actually tastes the wines and has tasted enough other wines to make sense of it. Jammy, too sweet, confected.

    Light fruity and delicious

A very quaffable wine. Light and fruity. In the price range it's one of the best we've had, and we've had a few.

    Very quaffable

very good example of new zealand pinot noir - needs to be at room temp for best flavour.

Okay but really not the best..

This is a cheap Pinot Noir... Make no mistake. And I agree with the comments suggesting that it is too jammy and undrinkable. But if your after a cheap Pinot.. there are probably worse. Having said that, I would either pay more and get better or pay less and get something else (another variety) with more depth and flavour. Really this is the bottom rung on the ladder for Pinot's - and if you wan't a decent one, you'll have to dig into your pocket a little deeper...

    Delightful

Fabulous pinot noir with a shed load of fruit. Very much new world style and a million miles from classic burgundy! Something that New Zealand South Island does so well. I enjoyed it with Peach & Palma ham salad and with pasta & salami combination. Will now order a case.
