Not your usual NZ Sauvignon Blanc
Three reliable guidelines for Sauvignon Blanc are: go for New Zealand, prefer Marlborough & the younger the better.
Only two apply here. This wine, by Cloudy Bay is at its best when matured for a few years. Don't expect the usual N.Z. S.V. taste and don't be put off by your first sip. When I met it for the first time, at the start I thought "what's all the fuss about". As I sipped on, I found out. It has a complexity of flavours beyond me to describe, but delightful to explore.
I prefer to drink it on its own, not with food and to set time aside to enjoy it. Drink it cool, but not cold.
