Origin
This is the second wine of the famed Musar estate, made in a lighter, more easy-going style. Partially aged in oak vats for 6-9 months, the wine undergoes a further 2 years' cellaring prior to bottling.
Taste
An intense burgundy colour with a complex nose of black fruits backed up by figs, dates and spices. The palate is well integrated with good acidity, fine tannins and a good length.
Enjoy
This wine's great structure bestows it with excellent ageing potential. Partner with saddle of lamb or Moroccan cuisine.

    outstanding value

    Mark Doran, are you aware of the concept of 'corked' wine? I can only assume that that was why you found the wine so disagreeable. I found this exquisite though surprisingly light bodied. It's a wine that rewards being drunk on its own though it would match some Lebanese kebabs beautifully.

    A great summer red...

    No cork taint experienced for me(as yet )..... This wine is a slightly lighter style to its bigger brother (Ch.Musar) and is delicious with or without food. 2005 was obviously a great year for this unique estate and the wine reflects this, oozing loads of zesty character with an almost tangy mouch puckering finish. Some may find the accidity to be too high and slightly volatile but if you want something truly interesting and left of field (a far cry from the more generic fruit-bombs out there),then this wine can be a delight . I believe it will continue to improve for a further six to eight years from now. Nb. 13.5% Alc. for this vintage .

    Great wine

    This wine is top draw, I have already brought 10 cases!! Needs to be slightly warm when drank and use a Venturi air for best results. Avoid 2004 not as good as 2005

    This wine is foul!!

    I took one sniff, one sip and then swiftly consigned the contents of the bottle to the drain. The second bottle followed shortly after as I did not want to experience this wine ever again. This winedid not deserve even a single star rating but unfortunately I had to give it one to submit my review.

    An Excellent wine for taste, colour and finish

    I have been drinking this wine for years and, irrespective of the year bottled, I have been impressed by its consistency of taste and excellent overall quality. On one occasion, I received a case in which the first three bottles opened were corked, but Majestic refunded the cost of the whole case, which I returned, without any quibble. Excellent service!

    Good value and well worth a try.

    This wine is very well balanced and refined. As good, infact probably much better than, any equivalent French wine. Don't be put off by the country of origin.....remember these Lebanese vineyards are not that far from the cradle of the first wine production!
