Grape

Pinot Noir

Origin
The Botter family is among the largest producers in north-east Italy, with one of the broadest range of wines and grape varieties. They have around 20 hectares of Pinot Noir in the east of Veneto, between Venice and Treviso. Winemaker is family member Alessandro Botter.
Taste
Bright and inviting ruby red. Fermentation and maturation without oak has preserved a fresh and intense bouquet of snappy strawberry and red apple fruit. Light tannins and taught acidity on the palate.
Enjoy
A great partner for assorted salami, dressed olives and other antipasto, or with spaghetti vongole.

    Surprisingly good

Given the feedback on here, I was a little nervous about opening it at the inlaws at the weekend; but it was unanimously approved of. Like most pinot noir, it's not a huge, robust red, but neither is it too thin in the mouth. Definitely fruity, great on its own and with soft cheese and charcuterie meats. I've been back to get more of it today - I prefer the 2011 to the 2009 although both were available in the Leeds branch.

"Not nice", as my granddaughter would say

Sorry, never said this before but you ask for comment and this is my honest opinion.

    Don't do it!

Ignore the favourable reviews above this one, this wine is not a good example of Pinot. In my view many have tried but only the French and New Zealanders have been successful in good PN. The price is attractive sure but the taste not so much.

    Not nice

This was added as a replacement by my local shop. I thought it was awful with a harsh acidic taste.
