Riesling

Origin
Margarethenhof is a quality conscious, family producer that works with low yielding Riesling vines on the steep slopes above the village of Ayl on the river Saar. This is a Kabinett, on the lighter end of the spectrum in Germany, and low alcohol.
Taste
An aromatic honeyed nose, with fantastically concentrated, ripe fruit and plenty of tangy acidity on the palate. Vibrant and lingering finish.
Enjoy
Ideal served on its own, but an excellent match to Thai cuisine.

    Too sweet !!

Rated as a 2 for dryness, but agree with previous reviewer. This is more like a 7 on the scale. Don't buy this wine if you (like myself) are not a fan of sweet wines.

    Fair value for money

Somewhat on the dry side, so the 2 rating seems about right.

As good as it gets under 10 pounds really...

This is a wonderful artisanal wine, great for drinking on it's own like so many good German wines. This is not sweet it has sublime balance between ripe fruit and "sherbert-lemon" type mouth-watering edge. perhaps should be marked as 4 one the dry/sweet scale so people who who are used to nameless Chardonnay and Sauv. Blanc realise that it is not bone dry. I'm glad that the UK market does not understand German wines well as the prices would go up a lot and quickly!
