Although Pinot Noir is one of the most difficult grapes to grow, this is a fine example at this price with plenty of soft ripe blackberry and raspberry fruit.

Youthful aromas of raspberry and blackberry fill the nose, while the palate is juicy, supple, and polished by 17 months in cask.

Côtes du Rhône 2009/2010 Domaine Durieu

Dark purplish red, with a classic Rhône nose of red and black berries, enhanced with a touch of wild herbs and spice. Has plenty of body, but is supple and freshly juicy on the palate, with good length.

BriO de Cantenac Brown 2007 Margaux

Elegantly structured claret, with aromas of pencil lead and sandalwood, and a bramble backbone. A good level of ripeness, medium body, and tannins of a firm, taut character.

Showing powerful aromas of red cherry with under tones of blackberry and blackcurrant this wine is intensely fruity. This wine has well balanced acidity and velvety tannins.

Mâcon-Cruzille 'Le Chanay' 2009 Cave de Lugny

Crisp and elegant, this wine is awash with apple, pear and citrus characters on nose and palate. Firm acidity and a mineral streak, reminiscent of the limestone soil of the Maconnais.

An invitingly aromatic wine, with a nose of citrus fruits, honeysuckle and stem ginger. The palate is a mix of yellow apple, apricot and white peach flavours, with a rounded texture.

Bourgogne Chardonnay Vieilles Vignes 2010 Nicolas Potel

The classically citrus-led nose also offers notes of marzipan and acacia flowers. Initially straightforward and nicely rounded on the palate, with an almondy complexity on the finish.
