This wine was a winner in the 2009 Top Vins de Pays competition and tastes much better than the Best Red in Show for a fraction of the price! It has wonderfully spicy, perfumed Syrah fruit and an elegant softness and roundness which mark it out as a wine of quality.

"Lots of schist and a slightly reductive character, but the rich, rounded and quite meaty, gamy fruit comes through as does plenty of spice. Powerful and chunky tannins give lots of grip, but an inherent fruit sweetness really powers through. One to match with a steak from the char-grill.     At £6.99 per bottle, for orders in multiples of two bottles, this is the best value red I've drunk for many years: serious quality, refined, spicey, tasting like an accomplished Rhone red and worth nearer £14 than £7 - buy now and buy a lot as I can't believe it will be around for long!
