Grape

Gros Manseng, Arrufiac, Petit Corbu

Origin
Unlike many modern producers, Producteurs Plaimont, the cooperative responsible for this wine, have stuck with the long-established local grape varieties in order to offer an authentic expression of the local terroir and winemaking style.
Taste
Fresh citrus backbone, with a pleasant mix of tanginess and riper, pear-like flavours. Partial oak ageing and 6 months resting on lees have added delicate nutty notes.
Enjoy
Serve cool alongside assorted seafood, fish soup or goat's cheese.

Press Reviews

  • Characterful, crisp white (2010 Vintage)

"A blend of grape varieties unique to the southwest of France go into this characterful, crisp white. It has fragrant pear and citrus fruitiness with some honey and apricot richness – and enough oomph to take on full-flavoured foods. (Jamie Goode, The Sunday Express, 2nd September 2012)"

  • "Vin délimité de qualité supérieure wines are on the way out. No matter. This stunning southwest white made from a trio of Gascony's ancient grapes, gros manseng, arrufiac and petit courbu, is easily the match of a full appellation contrôlée wine. Loved its gorgeous rich, fat, spicy, concentrated stone-fruit flavours – with fresh apricot and crystallised lime peel to the fore."
