Taste
Aromas of peach, passionfruit and pineapple mingle with spicy notes such as vanilla, nutmeg and even a hint of clove. The palate displays hints of dried apricots and puffed wheat.

    Outstanding value

I have been buying this wine from Majestic for a couple of years now and it has a firm position in my wine cabinet, As a lover of Chardonay and white Burgundies This fits right in subtle flavours a hint of oak and a smooth dry finish. Not quite up to Meursault but so close who would know. At the price a steal, dont hesitate.

    Superb. Fantastic value.

My wife is not a fan of Chardonnay but she had to admit that it was very good.

    Complex, classy and excellent value

Majestic have a number of interesting, excellent value Southern French chardonnays on their list - and this is one of the best. Complex and classy, it blends citrus and honeyed tropical fruits with darker, spicier notes, the light oaking running all the way through to a bone dry finish. Like other chardonnays from the South, it doesn't like being chilled to quite the same degree as an an equivalent Burgundy - keep it a degree or two warmer and you're rewarded with a fabulous, stylish wine. And at this price, you'll be hard pressed to find another chardonnay that's its equal.

One of my favourites at any price point!

I’ve visited the vineyard many times and would recommend it for the food as well as the tasting. The Marquis de Pennautier is their top flight white wine and doesn’t disappoint. If you like complex Chardonnay you have got to try it, in my opinion it stands toe to toe with the legendary Meursault at a third of the price.

    Stylish

Excellent value for money. The oakiness is subtle and there is a complex lemony herby bouquet.A stylish chardonnay of character.

  • Deliciously fresh with exotic undertones of pineapples and peaches (2010 vintage)

"Why buy Burgundy for £20 when this sneaks in under £10? Deliciously fresh with exotic undertones of pineapples and peaches, oatmeal and nutmeg. Good with : Sunday lunch, especially a classic roast chicken. (Sarah Jane Evans, BBC Good Food Magazine, October 2012)"

  • "Ten months’ ageing in oak, of which 50% is new, gives fab oatmeal and funky nutty complexity with long-lasting flavour, roundness off set by some fresh acidity. Excellent value and a very well made wine. Offers better value than the French football team did in South Africa. One of this month’s Five Wines to drown your World Cup sorrows. Score: 91/100"
