Pinot Blanc

Origin
Rarely seen outside the northern regions of Alsace and Germany, this single varietal Pinot Blanc comes from Jean-Claude Mas's experimental plantings in the Languedoc; the 2010 vintage is the very first release from the Zucco Vineyard.
Taste
Drier and more focussed than examples from northern France, this Pinot Blanc offers a blend of citrus and tropical stone fruit aromatics, supported by crisp acidity and minerality on the palate.
Enjoy
Drink with delicate poached white fish such as monkfish or bream, or with scallops and other seafood.

Press Reviews

  • "The first vintage for this unoaked Languedoc Pinot Blanc and it's a promising debut. It's from a two-acre vineyard by the foothills of the Montagne Noire and is a Vin de France because Pinot Blanc isn't a permited grape variety in Pays d'Oc. Lightly floral with fresh pear and citrus flavours, a touch of spice and a soft, gently creamy texture. Drink as an aperitif or try with a goat's cheese salad, risotto or creamy pasta. The full price is £9.99, but it's on offer until May. 87/100"
