Grape

Mourvèdre

Origin
Rarely seen as a single-varietal wine, Mourvèdre is known for its slightly rustic feel and dense, muscular tannin that produces wines with firm structure and good ageing potential. This fruitier modern example is aged in American oak for 6 months.
Taste
Round and generous, this purple-tinged red wine is abundant with blackberry fruit on nose and palate. Hints of pudding spices add depth to the ripe fruit, while plentiful tannins provide a grippy finish.
Enjoy
Best served with grilled lamb or richly flavoured Mediterranean dishes.

Good every day Mourvedre from Languedoc

Purply red color; nose liquorice and redberries; medium body and tannins.Light oak. Good every day Mourvedre from Languedoc. Priced fairly at £7. Good with Pecorino and extra mature cheddar.
