"This Languedoc blend of Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre has a little floral lift, and some gamey notes on the nose with a nutty Grenache background, and lots of zest and crunch. We like the crispness of the black fruit, combining crunch sweet fruit depth. A bargain at £4.99 when you buy two until the end of October 2009. Score: 86/100 "

"I'm a huge fan of the unrestrained carignan-heavy wines from the clay-limestone terraces of this part of France. This has wonderful scented notes of dried fruits, dates and a whiff of eucalyptus and tree resin. A great match with red meats."

I bought several based on the gold award. I'm not sure what the judges had been tasting prior to this but I think it must have scorched their taste buds.Odd taste and odd casserole the following day!

  • Very odd wine

I expected a light fruity wine with some balance - instead the "tree resin" of the Lyons review hits you like turpentine! Decant for 12 hours and it is OK - is this a joke? I was also misled by the decanter gold award - this is very odd stuff indeed.

  • Fantastic if you decant for 12hrs

This can be a brilliant wine but you've got to decant it for 12hrs+ otherwise its akin to the most stringent nasty cheap wine you've tried to forget 5stars for decanting undrinkable otherwise
