Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the most famous Southern Rhône appellation and, although just one of thirteen varieties permitted, is the finest expression of the Grenache grape. Styles range from fruity and easy drinking, to rich, well-structured and ageworthy.

    "Big, sweet aromas of stewed rhubarb, cherries and raspberries intermixed with cardamom, star anise, black pepper and wood smoke provide a sensational bouquet. In the mouth the wine is big, ripe and fleshy, with wonderfully smooth tannins and gentle acidity. A top wine from a top grower, and should provide drinking pleasure for another 10 – 12 years."
