Origin
This Crozes Hermitage comes from 6 hectares of vineyard, on a stony plain of glacial origin, located at 'Les Jalets'. Its name comes from the Old French word for the pebbles left by alpine glaciers, as can be found at Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Taste
Attractive bright ruby, aromas of red and black berries, white pepper and spices follow through to a palate which is smooth and rich with hints of wild mushrooms, finishing with liquorice notes.
Enjoy
Well made and balanced this wine would accompany a wide array of hearty meat dishes or barbecued foods.

  • "Violet and smoky bacon aromas, offering a lighter style of Syrah on the palate. Good length, lively acidity, black and red fruit blend in a wine for sipping with spicey bangers on an autumnal evening."

  • "Soft, supple fruit with a touch of savoury meatiness and light peppery notes on the finish make this wine a good one to choose for all the family. Not too heavy, it will go with roast turkey, beef or pork."

  • "If Australian shiraz is your standby, try a French syrah (the same grape but a different name). Beginning to open out nicely, this is meaty and spicy with fresh, dark cherry fruit and some lively peppery notes."
