Made by Jacques Vigier, director of the celebrated local Cave, this Pinot Noir comes from the stony foothills of the Massif Central. Fresh intensity of redcurrant and spice flavours show just how good value and quality the grape is capable of in the Loire. Ideally served very slightly chilled.

Much better than the low end of red Burgundy, pretty decent wine for every day drinking with or without food.

  • The more austere style of Pinot Noir.

Quite a good example of the more austere style of Pinot Noir, not too acid, but quite a bit of tannin. Not to everyone's taste, but some might like it rather a lot, and it would be interesting to see how it keeps and matures, although there isn't a lot of fruit. And of course very good value, if you do like it.

Rather a good pinot noir for the price with a real taste of the grape. Serve not too chilled though.
