Sauvignon Blanc

Origin
The result of a partnership between Paul Buisse and a number of leading Loire winemakers. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced from vineyards in the central Loire valley, and are cool-fermented to preserve the delicate aromatics.
Taste
Loire trademarks of gooseberry and blackcurrant leaf characterise the nose. The palate is nicely balanced, with a soft-edged acidity , yet a snappy citrussy zing.
Enjoy
Partner with a light Oriental stir-fry, or of course, seafood.

  • Light and fresh (2011 Vintage)

"Some attractive smokiness with some sucky stones on the end. Bone dry. Light and fresh. Very competent. (Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 25th May 2012)"

Elegant French Sauvignon without the Sancerre or Pouilly-Fumé price tag

"La Grille Touraine Sauvignon 2010, "Made by a small family-owned négociant based in the Loire castle town of Montrichard, this has a sweaty and cheesy nose with some ripe passion fruit (maybe leaning towards the NZ style a bit too much) on the palate. A solid, well-made wine nonetheless." Score 86/100"

  • "Charles and Philippa Sydney left Blighty for the good life in the Loire years ago and their latest endeavour is the gorgeous La Grille range, showcasing the region’s finest grapes and growers. Indeed, La G’s stunning whites, pinks and reds have popped up here before and Paul Buisse’s Touraine sauvignon wings in as the latest arrival. Although Buisse has a century-old family-owned négociant, or merchant firm, this sauvignon comes from his own Touraine vines and is fermented and aged in stainless steel to retain every last drop of its zingy fruit. Enjoy its juicy, mouthwatering sancerresque nettle and flowering currant fruit for half the price of the real thing."
