Melon de Bourgogne

Origin
The term 'sur lie' sorts the wheat from the chaff in the world of Muscadet. An extended period of lees contact after fermentation leads to a greater complexity of flavour and character.
Taste
With ripe fruit aromas, a pleasant richness and fine minerality, this is a classic Loire white. Bottled with a slight natural spritz to help retain freshness.
Enjoy
Chill well and drink immediately with scallops. Also makes an excellent partner for oriental cuisine.

    Excellent wine

I have always loved Muscadet and find it hard to find locally but this is one of the finest I have tasted. I am not an expert at wine but I know what I like and this is it. Lovely for all occasions. I honestly recommend this to you.

    Very good

"Cheapskate" and "Anonymous" were obviously not drinking the same wine? This was a clean, slightly spritzy , wine with plenty of body and flavour. Superb for the price,

    Excellent Value for Money

I had not come across this one before and bumped into it while looking around for something French and different to our usual choice of New Zealand Cab. Sav. for a change, and based on the other revues I took a gamble and popped for 12 bottles for entertaining over the Christmas Hols. We were not disappointed at this price - It is much lighter, dryer and not so heavy going which is just what we were looking for.

    fabulous

Clearly, from these reviews, you either love this style of muscadet or you don't. I think its great - the description of it as a well priced petit chablis, with hints of citrus and a tiny, briney sparkle, is spot on. Great stuff.

Muscadet as it is in the Loire

Forget all that insipid muck which masquerades as muscadet. This is the business. If you close your eyes it could even be a petit chablis with a touch of sherbet, lush!

    Muscadet

Wow, suprised to hear bad comments. We personally love this wine. it always sells out in store as soon as it comes in! have had to resort to buying it online... Dry, Crisp, the spirtz... perfect.

"The simple, refreshing pleasures of this thirst-quenching muscadet could have been made for this week’s dish. It’s a great match for everything from moules to monkfish – or just a soothing bowl of pasta. (Giles Kime, The Telegraph, 10th March 2013)"

  • Refreshing (2011 Vintage)

"The refreshing sourness of green apples plus stronger flavours, thanks to the time on lees. (Nina Caplan, The Telegraph, 2nd October 2012)"

  • "Great value dry white wine with an invigorating salty flourish. Clean and crisp and outstanding with a plate of mussels. One of this month’s Five Best Value Wines. Score: 89/100"
