Château Bahans Haut-Brion

Château Bahans Haut-Brion 2006 Pessac-Léognan, 2nd wine of Haut-Brion 12 x 75cl Bottles

Sweet cherry and fig nose. Rather gentle tannins and exceptional ripeness couple neatly with some delicious savoury notes on the finish. This is a seriously well put together wine that will deliver great satisfaction earlier than most wines of this quality from 2006. 15.3 points (out of 20)

"More concentrated colour than the Chapelle de la Mission, the stablemate second wine. More opulent, ripe nose than either of the wines from La Mission. In this wine what seemed like austerity in the Mission wines seems like coolness. Very supple - a very good Bahans. Mellifluous with real lift though no enormous concentration. Just a slight inkiness on the finish shows the vintage. Not for very long keeping but lots of pleasure here."
