Good quality wine in this price range

We only had one bottle of this, unfortunately, as it was an easy drinking, smooth Brouilly that we would happily by again.

On price/quality ratio, very hard to beat

Luscious, fruit driven , drinking beautifully right now but has the tannins that will certainly allow it to keep. This wine has the "deliciousness factor" in spades. Lovely deep purple colour, super ripe black fruit flavours with a nice acid balance. I had forgotten how lovely gamay can be , this is a great expression of the grape. At this price , the quality represented , this wine is an absolute steal. It was wonderful with a rib iof beef stew and a camebert to follow.

Staff Reviews

  • "'Brouilly is the largest cru village in Beaujolais and produces some of the most robust wines of the region. The 2007 effort from Domaine des Maisons Neuves is in this respect a very typical Brouilly, with a powerful nose of Blackberries, Blackcurrants and just a hint of florality. On the palate it boasts bags of pure fruit, with a fantastic texture, fatter and silkier than most Beaujolais with a persistent finish.' "
