Grape

Pinot Noir

Origin
Côte de Nuits-Villages is essentially the northern sister appellation of the better-known Côte de Beaune-Villages in the south of Burgundy. Covering a range of respected village appellations with some excellent sites, the region produces very consistent quality.
Taste
Offers the classic Pinot Noir nose of ripe red berries, with some darker hints of blackberry and liquorice. Ripe yet nicely taught on the palate, with a smooth texture lifted by a lipsmacking acidity.
Enjoy
A great partner for poultry dishes, especially duck or turkey, but will also stand up to red meats and feathered game.

    light aromatic authentic style

I like the light, aromatic style of Burgundy; this is what I expected from the appellation, and this is what I got. Lovely colour, authentic bouquet, but don’t expect it to stand up to hefty food. I liked it, others may find it underwhelming. But it is a very authentic example of the style. Luncheon wine?

The 2007 came recommended, and it did not disappoint. Really very good pinot for the price.

    Very nice

This wine is so nice especially with the spiced beef I had it with. Even on its own is is very pleasant and soft.

Wowzer - loads to recommend this wine!

A fabulous wine, light pinot with a touch of liquorice, but smooth and plenty of berry flavour. Paired this with a trio of partridge, pheasant and pigeon and it was divine!

  • "The 2007 red Burgundy vintage is drinking brilliantly at the moment: fragrant and forward. This is slightly stemmy, with supple red fruits, fresh acidity and a hint of basil and tomato skin. 90 points"

  • "Pale coloured, this is a really elegant Burgundy with cherry fruit and some deliciously sappy aromatics."
