From the great Chateau de Pizay stable, this is outstanding quality, and difficult to believe it is 'generic' Beaujolais and not even one of their many superb crus. This is a revelation in modern-style Beaujolais, possessing character, fruit intensity, versatility with food or drunk on its own (preferably unchilled for me). Clearly the 2011 vintage was oustanding, although it is unikely to improve beyond the first year or two, so should be snapped up and consumed as soon as possible. Pleased to see Jancis R. is also so enthusiastic and is promoting this producer and this particular example. Really good value.
