Named in honour of an early seafarer who drowned whilst exploring the treacherous coast, Vasse Felix in the Wilyabrup sub region of Margaret River region of Western Australia, produces award winning wine from ancient soils influenced by the Indian and Southern Oceans.
Taste
Perfumed and leafy aromas along with generous black fruits and berry fruit aromas. A palate rounded by oak, integrated and ripe tannins and warming layers of dark fruits. An integrated complex finish.
Enjoy
This fantastic Bordeaux blend to be enjoy over the next ten years with roasted meats and game.

    Utterly delightful on its own or with food - a real bargain

    I have sampled and enjoyed many Vasse Felix wines. but this is one of their best. Not identical to a typical Bordeaux, but as good as any at anywhere near this price. Vindication of WA as a premier producing region.

    Well-balanced - too much alcohol?

    Lovely mix of merlot and cab, big and round. As Larry says, perhaps less alcohol, though i think he is a bit harsh.

    Disappointing for the money

    I really don't mind what the alcohol content of a wine is, but in this wine you can easily tell it is at the upper end (i.e 14.5%). It does no favours at all for the wine which, for the money, left me rather disappointed. A reasonable oaky finish comes through the alcohol eventually, but not enough to win me over.

    An excellent Merlot

    We were lucky enough to visit the Vasse Felix Winery in Nov, and sampled this wine, so delighted to find that it was on Majestic's list - and cheaper than in Western Australia! A young wine which is beautifully balanced with just enough fruitiness and a well rounded finish
