Sauvignon Blanc

Origin
A family run domaine who predominantly grow Sauvignon Blanc in and around the area of Chaudoux-Verdigny in Sancerre. The use of old vines points to a better quality of wine as the vine shows reduced vigour and therefore smaller more concentrated yields.
Taste
This wine exhibits classic passionfruit and mineral characters coupled with a racy acidity giving excellent balance and structure.
Enjoy
Drink now and enjoy well chilled with gazpacho or fresh crab.

    nettles

very oaky on the nose at first. nice palate of nettles, under ripe gooseberries(ouch) and elderflower . well the bottles gone so it cant of been that bad! if you drink and enjoy nz sauv/blanc then this is much leaner and less exotic. i quite like it.

    Not value for money

A nice wine with a crisp taste of apples. It grew on us but it's not worth the price tag.

Press Reviews

  • Well above average (2011 Vintage)

"There’s a lot of pretty mediocre Sancerre around; this one is well above average at the price. Crisp, herbaceous, mineral, with a little more weight and concentration than some. (Andrew Neather, Evening Standard, 11th October 2012)"

  • Intense and refreshingly inviting (2011 Vintage)

"Intense and refreshingly inviting in aroma with an undertone of the Sauvignon's nettly character, this is ripe and concentrated showing classic gooseberry flavours with delicate herbaceous borders, while the finish has that crisp, dry tang that borders on the mineral. (The Wine Gang, www.winegang.com, August 2012)"

  • Stylish Loire dry white (2011 Vintage)

"This fine new vintage sauvignon is fragrant and concentrated with classic gooseberry fruit, its herbaceous borders adding zing to this stylish Loire dry white (Anthony Rose, The Independent, 9th June 2012)"
