A deep and lush ruby colour, with an alluring nose of rich fruit, and subtle touches of violet, smoke, and leafy herbs. Fulsome yet elegant, the tannins are smooth and the palate tightly structured.
Intense and complex on the nose, which offers an array of fruit accented by notes of chestnuts, burnt toffee, chocolate and lavender. Full and lush on the palate, with a supple texture and good length.
Petaluma Coonawarra Red is a blend predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with smaller portions of Shiraz and Petit Verdot: a lovely, complex, fruit driven wine with a spicy undercurrent.
Deep crimson with purple tinges, intense ripe berry characters with a vanilla lift exude on the nose. Concentrated rich, black fruit flavours on the palate follow to a balanced and velvety finish.

D'Arenberg's Coppermine Road vineyard is planted with a particularly low-yielding Cabernet Sauvignon clone, which provides berries with great concentration of flavour.
Paringa Estate was started in 1985 by Lyndsay McCall, who abandoned his career in teaching to answer his calling to be a winemaker. The estate itself now comprises only 10 acres of vines, with partner growers providing access to a further 45 acres. This Chardonnay comes from three estate-managed vineyards, and is fermented in new and old French oak. The bouquet and palate display citrus, peach and nectarine characters along with the creamy nutty characteristics introduced by lees stirring. The mouth feel is long and rich and finishes with good natural acidity.
The nose shows complex caramel and butter notes, not rich so much as deep. Layered on top are fruit aromas of white stonefruit and honeydew melon, themselves topped by a range of funky, savoury notes. It’s a luxurious wine for sure, one that delivers its caramel and stonefruit flavours on a bed of satin sheets and down pillows.
As you dive down, you’ll pass through layers of snapped twig, spice, raspberry, umami, ripe cherry, nougat and more. The palate is equally evasive for, although it does not hold back its flavours, the journey on which it takes you isn’t immediately obvious. First, a cuddly hit of berry fruit. Then, on the middle palate, an array of sweet and savoury flavours, encompassing everything from beetroot leaves to rhubarb to tobacco and spice.
Offers an intense and mouth-filling burst of lush red fruit, voluptuous tannins and spicy cedar and violet nuances.
Now in its second decade of vintages, the Red Winemaking Trial Shiraz has become an established part of the Penfolds heirarchy.
A sleek, contemporary wine, yet crafted in the traditional way in the 120-year-old winery: hand-picked, fermented only metres from where it is grown, in the original wax-lined cement open fermenters of the old cellar, and then gently basket pressed.
