Grape

Pinot Noir

Origin
This wine is made exclusively for Majestic, hence the name! From the southern-most wine-growing region on earth, Central Otago, know for it's Pinot Noirs which ripen superbly due to the thin atmosphere at altitude, whilst the cool nights preserve acidity and freshness.
Taste
The palate is all about Central Otago showing elegance and a soft powerful tannin structure supporting cherry, cassis, chocolate and raspberry spice flavours.
Enjoy
This will drink wonderfully with duck cooked in Chinese five spice, and is best enjoyed over the following 2-3 years.

    Oh dear

Oh no - this tastes like what it is - cheap NZ Pinot. It's like a child's diluted approximation of Pinot Noirs characteristics - no charm, no depth, no quality. The 2 quid extra for The Ned for instance would be 2 pounds very well spent.

    Try it with food

This is a lovely wine if you go for it with food as advertised -duck- including with 5 spice -is great but in fact it handles a wide range but not so approachable on its own. For those looking for a full blown Central Otago then you better find another £11- this is great value.

    yum

A great light Pinot - Great taste and length of flavour - Streets ahead of the mass produced likes of Montana - I would prefer a Wither Hills but price is a factor
