Grape

Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah or Shiraz

Origin
A cracking entry-level Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this wine blends Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah to produce an early-drinking wine at a superb price. This most prestigious of Southern Rhône villages really comes into its own when matched with spicy dishes.
Taste
This wine's medium acidity and soft, precocious style, make it an unusually early-drinking Châteauneuf-du-Pape. An intriguing palate of smoke, coffee, olives, dark fruits, and spicy herbs.
Enjoy
This spicy, fruit driven wine is ideal served with a Provençale-style stew, and drink over the next couple of years.

Completely agree. Recently had the 2010 and am planning to buy some to lay down for a couple of years. Very promising wine.

    disapointing

OK, so its not expensive, but when you think of a bottle of CNdP this is not what you have in mind. You would do better choosing one of the other villages at this price.

    Decent wine

Good value for money. Chateauneuf du Pape is always 4 star or 5 star in my mind, this one is 4 star.

    OK

A so so wine. The Guigal CDR blows its socks off on cost and flavour. '08's seem to be a bit anaemic.

A rich wine for the not so rich!

Excellent flavours and very smooth. Truly excellent value and a wine to enjoy with venison. I highly recommend it.

    Exceptional value for money

Had a bottle of this last night, and was very pleasantly surprised. It has been a very long time since I lasted tasted such a good Chateauneuf du Pape at this remarkable price level.
