Chenin Blanc

Origin
The warm and dry Robertson Valley, home to this winery of the same name, is further inland than most vineyards in South Africa, but the Breede River, running through it, provides a cooling influence and provides Chenin Blanc of excellent character and consistency.
Taste
Crammed full with pineapple, melon and green apple fruits complemented by a firm structure and balancing acidity.

A podgy wine wearing too-tight clothes

Perfectly acceptable and a good price. There's a slight vegetable quality, though, which isn't the best. Otherwise, there’s a homely cheniny podginess to it — fullfruited, syrupy, yet acidic. A wine that’s got some chub, and (perhaps) is wearing clothes ever so slightly too tight for it. Read my full review at http://oldparn.com/2011/04/robertson-winery-chenin-blanc-2010-review/

    Could be more fruity

This wine is a little too sharp for me. It nees a little more depth and roundness

    My fave!

It's hard to get a decent white wine for this price - I love this Chenin and keep going back for more. Comparable to bottles going to £15 and more.

    Excellent value fruity chenin blanc

This is great stuff for the price! Fruity (melons?) with a fairly robust and very welcome kick. Wouldn't necessarily be my top choice (there are clearly better chenins on The Cape) but gets 5 stars and repeated custom (our 3rd lot now) for the terrific value for money.

Delicious and an absolute bargain. Lots of fruits with a slight citric edge. Very clean and lovely mouth-feel. Tastes like a complete wine. I will be re-ordering.

    Great value easy drinking wine

A little sweeter than some other Chenins, but the sweetness enhances the Melon flavours. Great to drink on its own or with food. Highly recommended.
