Origin
Bordering the acclaimed vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet, Gérard Thomas produces a St Aubin premier cru that challenges its pricier neighbour. He barrel ferments this wine to give it a softer and smoother complexity.
Taste
With a nose of ripe citrus, fresh peach, subtle sweet spice and hints of minerals, this is followed by gentle hazelnut aromas, lemons and limes, hints of vanilla and butter on the palate.
Enjoy
This fantastically well balanced and complex wine would be a great accompaniment to pan fried scallops, fresh crab or lobster dishes.

    Absolutely delicious

A brilliant wine enjoyed this time with fish and chips from the excellent 'Fish' resatuarnt in East Sheen. I will be buying more of this wine, it's as good and less expensively priced than Puligny-Montrachet.

An outstanding wine that I would buy over and over again. Reminded me of creamy fudge that I devoured as a child in Cornwall.

Oak alert! Try a bottle or two before plunging in.

I don't recognise the wine from either the Majestic description, or the one previous review. My immediate and strong impression is OAK. It's good clean old-world oak, but there is a lot of it. There is fruit behind it but I would advise anyone to try a bottle or two before plunging in. Maybe with a premier cru you expect more of everything, but more oak wouldn't be my choice. I don't think keeping it for longer would change this. Your questions to yourself: Do I like this style? What am I going to drink it with? It certainly wouldn't be my choice for casual sipping.
