Named after one of the tallest rugged peaks to the southeast of the vineyard, The Ned offers superb purity of fruit and varietal character. A nose of nettles and grass leads to generous gooseberry flavours with a smoky herbal twist on the palate reminiscent of a well crafted Sancerre. The stony terroir gives the wine a subtle gun flint minerality which delivers extra complexity.
"Archetypal gooseberry and grass cutting aromas which carry through in the mouth. This is vivid and vibrant, even exuberant, but it doesn't go over the top: everything is in balance.
