Origin
The Milan-born Francesca Passoni is the driving force behind this winery. In 1990, she and husband Giuseppe set about restoring the Cantina di Passoni estate and its accompanying convent to their original splendor.
Taste
An intense wine with lively acidity and lots of pure fruit. The palate is unmistakably crisp with citric and green fruit notes. This fruit is backed up with the classic Vernaccia character of almonds.
Enjoy
Whilst working as an excellent apéritif this wine will also work well partnering grilled fish, poultry and fresh summer salads.

    Polariser

Agree with a bit of all these comments, its not stunning but it does have a certain aged on lees taste to it which comes through as a bit nutty and has a purity in its citrus flaours which again ticks the italian white box, simple style refreshing taste not a fine wine by any stretch of the imagination but at least a lot more exciting than pinot grigio at any level

    Okay and no more

Unobjectionable, nice enough, but no more. Certainly not value for money at the full price. Far nicer wines available at the discounted price too - try Sistina Pecorino for a white Italian star in this price range.

A very, very poor Vernaccia and not good value for money

I know quite a number of Vernaccia producers, and have tasted even more ordinary vernaccia wines from this region, because we are regular visitors to this part of central Tuscany. This is even worse than the non-descript Castello di Montuato - it was low on perfume, low on grapes but very high on yeast, no body, no structure and by the morning it was pure vegetal. Back to the shop for a full-on complaint and a full refund. The other reviewers were just trying to be nice. Once upon a time Majestic used to offer Panizzi wines, I've bought them, drunk them and enjoyed them and they are still a good producer. The buyer needs to get back to the Tuscan cellars and quickly, because the Poliziano Vino di Montepulciano ws pretty rough stuff, too.

a good solid San Gimignano ,

I discovered Verniccio as a grape variety while on holiday in Tuscany , this is cheaper than any i bought in Italy and worth it for those wanting an off the beaten path variety. intersting and complex
