  cheap and cheap

  Yes, good value but tastes like it. Quite acid, not much body but for a fiver OK. Drink the whole bottle in one go, it doesn't keep well when open. Better with food.

  Perfectly quaffable wine @ £5.99

  I only drink NZ Sauvignon Blanc as am not keen on the other New World SBs (South Africa, Chile etc). I have probably tasted about 20 varieties both in NZ and here at home ranging from £4.99 at Sainsburys to £30.00 at our local wine merchant - and of course you can taste the difference. I bought 6 bottles of Riverlands for weekday quaffing and have to say I found it very acceptable for the price - you are paying £5.99 for goodness sake. It is citrussy, not too cloying, and provided it is very chilled hits the spot after a day at work. If you can get Wither Hills at £5.99 then it will be a better tasting wine but regrettably it wasn't on offer at that price.

  Oh dear.....

  ...and to think I could have had Wither Hills for the same price. UK-bottled, thin, acidic, and going back. Majestic are usually terrific, but this is the sort of wine that Tesco revel in offering for 'half price'. Definitely one to avoid.

  One to avoid

  I have enjoyed and savoured NZ Sauvignon Blanc for a number of years but I definitely made a mistake when I bought a half case of Riverlands Run without tasting it first. In my opinion, this wine detracts from the Marlborough reputation. My problem is - how do I get rid of the remaining bottles?

  Crisp, light and pure

  A really easy wine to drink with a purity I haven't experienced before with Sauvignon Blanc. Light and fresh. Highly recommend it.

  Ignore the snobs who like paying double for the same wine

  All we ever drink is NZ Sav Blanc and like Corinne (below) have tasted the cheap stuff and very expensive bottles too. We found Riverlands Run a year or so ago and have never looked back. At £5.99, it's unbelievably good value. If you're happy to pay £10+ a bottle for very similar wine with a nicer looking label, be my guest.

  Another NZ cracker at an unbeatable price!

  "This wine brings fresh apple, citrus and cut grass aromas on the nose, followed up by fresh acidity, asparagus and gooseberry characteristics on the nose. Great everyday wine for what's left of our summer!"
