Grape

Viognier

Origin
The Viognier grapes for this wine come from the Periliho Estate in the Colchagua Valley. Yali's approach to vinification involves a cold soak, before fermentation controlled between 13-16 degrees. The wine is also then aged for two months with weekly lees stirring.
Taste
Light in body and texture, with an emphasis on stone fruits and tropical characters. Melon, apricot and tangerine notes abound, lifted by a sharp citrussy acidity.
Enjoy
Refreshing on its own, or drink with honey and ginger glazed pork and roasted vegetables.

    Quite a find

Delightful. For me, it's got lots of flavour and a zing that makes it really refreshing, but it still lovely and smooth.

    Fantastic!

I loved this wine, it is so rare to serve something that everyone asks what is it and where did you get it?

This should have shown 5 star rating not 3.

Press Reviews

  • Pear-drops and apricots on the palate (2011 Vintage)

"Typically floral on the nose, with lots of pear-drops and apricots on the palate, underpinned with that distinctive smoky/spicy quality typical of the grape. (Terry Kirby, The Independent, 23rd September 2012)"

  • ...

"There's no doubt Chile is getting to grips with Viognier and there are more and more very nice examples appearing like this ripe, expressive, very nicely realised wine with classic Viognier aromatics and juicy acidity to balance the glacé fruits and apricot ripeness of the palate. Very well priced at £5.99 when you buy two before the end of May 2011. Rating: 87/100 Goes with: Pasta & Risotto, Chicken."

  • "Chile, too, is making a good fist of it, so much so that for sheer value, the honeysuckle-scented and ripe peachy 2010 Yali Reserva Viognier, Colchagua Valley."
