Good wine, but nothing special
This wine doesn't betray its Californian heritage in that it has good tropical fruit and some butter toffee popcorn, but yet it has a little more wet stone minerality and acidity than most other Carneros chardonnay. It is well balanced and well crafted; and it has something in common with a Premier Cru Chablis if you're looking for direct comparison to France. However for around half the price you can get the normal Saintsbury Chardonnay and for me that is probably the better wine; and is hands down the better value.
